Where government can publicly report how its services are performing.
- The Performance Dashboard product had been made public whilst still in Alpha. As such there were many usability and accessibility issues that needed to be understood via usability testing and iterated upon.
- Another pain point that arose from the rapid publishing of the Alpha version, was that data was being supplied by the reporting product teams using ad-hoc methods and at irregular times.
- Site visit research with these stakeholders revealed the need for a ‘self-service’ mechanism for data to be supplied. These users fell into 2 types: Data Divas, and Reporting Regulars.
- As such, a system was designed to help these users source, supply, check and publish their data, resulting in increased data coverage and more timely reporting. The initial prototype was iterated based on concept and feedback gathered through multi rounds of usability testing.
